Yarm Road
The Yarm Road project is an exciting plan to convert a commercial premise into a mix of modern apartments and retail units. The plans include adding an additional story to the property which will be transformed into eight new apartments.
These eight apartments will match the 16 new ones on floors one and two once they have been converted from their current use as office premises. You can view similar, mix-use projects on our commercial design page.
Due to the demographic that these apartments are targeting, they need a modern and professional look. To meet this objective, we have added vertical window panelling and Juliet balconies into the design. These will fit nicely with the newly painted exterior to give the properties a modern aesthetic. The apartments will also be accessible from the high street with an underground car park available for residents.
Plans include leaving the ground floor for commercial use. It is currently being rented by a range of retail tenants and we will be leaving the design of this floor “as is”, minus some small changes to the exterior. This allows the £2.5m development to grant Stockton the residential premises that it needs without causing a negative impact to its high street.
If you are looking to change the use of your property, or build an entirely new one from scratch, then we welcome you to contact us. As demonstrated with this design, we can design buildings that are sympathetic to local councils’ regeneration policies to make gaining planning permission easier.
A double garage with porch area allowed for tidy parking. Easy access to the A19 was one of the features of this property, which sits on the edge of Teeside. The front of the living area of the house had a matching porch to the garage, providing a pleasing feeling of balance. The design of the house both inside and out was contemporary.
