Cartmel Road

The owners of 11 Cartmel Road were looking for more light and space in their home. So, we achieved this by building a large, single storey gable end extension to their property – the entire end side of which comprised solely of glass in a black painted steel frame. The extension itself was comprised of brick, a cavity wall and supporting steelwork for the roof.

The original bungalow presented significant challenges, with limited space and dark, enclosed rooms. The task at hand was to reimagine the space, creating a modern living area that would enhance the quality of life for the homeowners.

To address the constraints of the original layout, we extended the property at the rear and opened up the interior to create a seamless flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Key features such as a vaulted ceiling, roof lights, and bifold doors were introduced to flood the new hub of the house with natural light, creating an airy and bright atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment.

The transformation of the Upleatham bungalow exceeded all expectations. The once-dated property now stands as a shining example of modern living, with a spacious and inviting interior that caters to the needs of the homeowners.
